Cinnamon basil is a little-known variety of basil with a flavor that blends Italian basil (also known as sweet basil) with a hint of cinnamon.
Its cinnamon flavor is due to the natural presence of cinnamate, the same compound found in cinnamon and cassia and which provides much of their aroma and flavor.

Cinnamon basil MICROGREENS : THE USES IN THE KITCHEN
Its version as a microgreen offers softer leaves, a delicate appearance and a full and defined flavour. It can be used to garnish a wide variety of foods and really anything that pairs well with basil. In Mexico, where cinnamon basil originates, it is often used with fruit flavors.
